Hyundai L&C, the comprehensive building-materials company of Hyundai Department Store Group, has unveiled two new engineered hardwood floors in its 'Centra Series.' The two newly introduced 'Centra' products are the stone-pattern 'Centra Square' and the renewed wood-pattern 'Centra Prime 6.5.'
First, 'Centra Square' is a wide-plank stone-pattern floor whose width has been expanded to 398 mm — nearly four times wider than existing products — creating a sense of spaciousness. Reflecting the recent interior trend favoring big sizes, the company also plans to offer 'Centra Square Grande' (hereinafter Grande) in a 600×1205 mm size to provide a differentiated sense of openness. 'Centra Square' uses a high-strength HPL surface material, giving it strong resistance to dents and scratches, and HPL is also applied to the underside so that force is distributed evenly across both faces, minimizing the warping that can be a concern with large sizes. In addition, careful attention has been paid to ease of installation for stable bonding — for example, horizontal and vertical grooves are cut into the underside and the surface is sanded to increase the contact area with the adhesive. Furthermore, by minimizing the emission of organic compounds such as formaldehyde, it has earned the SE0 (Super E0) grade, the highest level of eco-friendly material rating, and has also obtained the Environmental Labeling Certification administered by the Ministry of Environment, making it environmentally friendly as well. The designs consist of six stone patterns in warm tones such as warm gray and beige, and the flagship products 'Luna Desert' and 'Cloud Ceramic' are also released in the Grande size, so a total of eight products are available. In particular, 'Luna Desert' was conceived with the motif of sand dunes shaped by the wind, while 'Cloud Ceramic' renders a subtle concrete texture over a natural gray tone, creating a comfortable yet modern space.
Along with this, Hyundai L&C has also newly introduced 12 collections that renew the design of its existing popular engineered hardwood 'Centra Prime 6.5' to match the latest trends. The new 'Centra Prime 6.5' features a three-dimensional surface that delivers the realistic texture found in premium products. Representative products include 'Timeless Serenity,' which creates a warm space with vintage color tones, and 'Secret Glade,' which highlights white-and-wood interiors with a soft brown color.
