Hyundai L&C, the comprehensive building-materials company of Hyundai Department Store Group, has launched five new products in its engineered stone ‘Khanstone’ line. These new Khanstone products are notable for closely analyzing and reflecting design trends aimed at the domestic interior stone market.

Engineered stone uses more than 90% high-quality natural quartz mineral, making it less prone to surface scratches and damage while minimizing the cracking and color unevenness that can occur with natural stone. In addition, because it has almost no gaps between surfaces compared to natural stone, food stains are less likely to form, and its very low moisture absorption rate helps prevent bacterial growth. It is primarily used as kitchen countertops, and recently its range of application has been expanding to kitchen walls, islands and even bathrooms.

Reflecting the growing preference for interiors with a warm atmosphere, the new Khanstone products are generally based on warm gray or warm-tone bases and patterns. ▲Winter Fog, inspired by a misty dawn, creates a modern atmosphere with a subtle two-tone gray color pattern. When installed in a space, it forms a base color and produces a calm interior effect. ▲Billow Chic pairs a transparent, deep base with trendy warm gray, harmonizing well with any color. It blends seamlessly without any sense of incongruity even when accent colors or contrasting colors are combined in a space.

▲Winter Coast adds vitality to a space with its harmony of brown and gray colors and lively pattern. Since flooring materials are typically installed as apartment floors, giving brown tones that span the entire space, the Winter Coast product—combining brown and gray colors—achieves a cohesive interior. ▲Mono Serif adds a graceful gray pattern to a deep tone-on-tone color base, enabling a restrained, understated spatial design. ▲Luna Sand expresses the soft texture of sand with a delicate white pattern on a warm gray-tone base.

With these new products, Khanstone now offers a product lineup of about 40 varieties, and the five new products are included in the 2024 Collection, which will be actively promoted to architectural firms, interior companies and construction firms. In particular, as the trend of applying the same material not only to kitchen countertops but also to kitchen walls and islands continues to grow, the company plans to strengthen its marketing in the related market.

Meanwhile, last year Hyundai L&C launched the premium Khanstone ‘Opimo Collection,’ which precisely reproduces the layered patterns of the finest natural Quartzite, and it continues to enjoy popularity not only domestically but also in North America. Through this new lineup featuring gentle patterns, alongside the artistic and splendid Opimo Collection, Hyundai L&C plans to respond even more broadly to customers’ diverse tastes.

According to a Hyundai L&C official, “Since Khanstone is also an actively exported product, we pay careful attention to considering global trends while also designing to reflect the characteristics of each local market,” adding, “Following these new products, in March we will further reinforce the Opimo Collection lineup, responding even more swiftly to the designs customers want.”
