Rectangular stone patterns significantly expanded to create sophisticated interiors◀
Hyundai L&C, the comprehensive building-materials company of Hyundai Department Store Group, has relaunched its residential sheet flooring 'The Chaeum'.
'The Chaeum' is a 2.2㎜-thick flooring featuring a high-elasticity cushion layer, comprising 10 wood patterns and 8 stone patterns. In particular, the new product was introduced with the basic warm-tone designs most sought after by customers, so as to strike a balance with last year's new product 'Artium', which had adopted a somewhat bold design. For the wood patterns, a variety of patterns are composed around the flagship size of about 128㎜, while the trend-sensitive stone patterns, based on soft warm-gray tones, greatly expand the use of rectangular shapes such as 450×900㎜ instead of square shapes, enabling interiors that are both stable and sophisticated. Among the stone patterns, the flagship product is 'Wave Travertine', characterized by its distinctive flowing patterns. 'Wave Travertine' is a design that leverages the way the pattern's directionality stands out in a rectangular form, making it perfect for creating a modern atmosphere. Among the wood patterns, 'Ruby Oak', which features the characteristics of a firm and well-structured oak grain, received high praise. This product, whose pattern completeness is heightened by delicate elements, harmonizes beautifully with solid-wood furniture.
In addition, compared with before the renewal, 'The Chaeum' is distinguished by its enhanced functionality for young children and pets. It passed slip-resistance tests under both ordinary conditions and wet-surface conditions, and it earned PS (Pet Safety) certification from the Korea Kennel Association in recognition of being safe from phthalate plasticizers, lead, and cadmium, as well as its excellent colorfastness that prevents dye from rubbing off even under external influences. Furthermore, it is effective in reducing inter-floor and everyday noise—for example, reducing noise of around 77 decibels on a bare floor by about 16 decibels—and its excellent cushioning and resilience provide superb underfoot comfort as another advantage.
On top of this, 'The Chaeum' showed no detection of the four major heavy metals harmful to the human body, and its safety with respect to formaldehyde and other substances that cause sick-house syndrome has been verified, earning it the Ministry of Environment's Eco-Label certification. In addition, it was certified by FITI Testing & Research Institute, an internationally accredited testing and certification body, for a 99.9% antibacterial effect against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and pneumonia bacteria, as well as major mold fungi. 080-729-8272
