Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials company under the Hyundai Department Store Group, announced the launch of its new product, the ‘Arte Canstone Dining Table,’ co-developed with total interior company Hyundai Livart.
The new product is notable for using ‘Canstone,’ a premium engineered natural stone commonly used as a finishing material for kitchen furniture, as its tabletop. ‘Canstone,’ which is primarily used as a kitchen interior finishing material, was developed into a standalone dining table through joint development with Hyundai Livart, which has furniture-manufacturing expertise within the group. ‘Canstone’ is an engineered natural stone made with more than 90% high-quality natural stone; it is resistant to surface scratches and damage, and is designed to minimize the cracking and color unevenness that can occur in natural stone. In addition, its low water-absorption rate makes it highly resistant to staining and corrosion.
A Hyundai L&C official said, “Considering that demand for Canstone has recently been growing not only for kitchen furniture tops but also for accent walls, flooring, and more, we decided to introduce dining table products featuring two of Canstone’s popular designs.” In particular, the new products use ‘Matterhorn’ and ‘Eden,’ popular products from the ‘Opimo Collection,’ Canstone’s premium line. The ‘Opimo Collection’ features designs so precise that they meticulously reproduce the layered patterns of Quartzite, a top-grade natural stone, to the point of being visually indistinguishable from real natural stone. ‘Matterhorn’ expresses dynamic, bold veining inspired by a snow-covered peak rising from a glacier, while ‘Eden’ renders in pattern the soft colors and subtle movement created by freshly fallen snow. Both products were adopted as premium options at Olympic Park Foreon (12,032 households) in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, earning recognition as popular products that lead the latest interior trends. A Hyundai L&C official said, “Canstone supply contracts continue to increase, spanning from residential interiors to large-scale commercial spaces,” adding, “Leveraging Canstone, we will further solidify our position as Korea’s leading engineered natural stone company.”
