Hyundai L&C is unveiling its ‘Hybrid Middle Door,’ which enhances insulation performance and strengthens design elements.

Hyundai L&C, a comprehensive building-materials company under the Hyundai Department Store Group, announced the launch of its ‘VIEW Series,’ a hybrid 3-panel sliding middle door (a system in which three connected door panels move together) that combines aluminum and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) materials.

While products currently on the market use only a single material each—such as wood, PVC, or aluminum—Hyundai L&C’s ‘VIEW Series’ is the first middle door to combine two or more materials. In the ‘VIEW Series,’ the door frame uses PVC, which offers excellent insulation and noise-blocking performance, while the door panels use aluminum, which is lightweight and highly durable. The panel frame thickness (33㎜) is also about 20% slimmer than conventional PVC frames (40㎜ or more).

In particular, the ‘VIEW Series’ strengthens its design by attaching tempered glass over the frame that can cover the entire door panel. Whereas conventional 3-panel sliding middle doors on the market insert glass between the panel frames, this product applies full-surface tempered glass that also covers the frame, creating the effect of a higher ceiling. In addition, the glass employs a gradation technique (a design method in which the bottom is dark and gradually becomes more transparent toward the top), which conceals shoes and storage cabinets and gives the entryway a tidy appearance.

The ‘VIEW Series’ comes in two types—‘VIEW 1,’ with tempered glass attached on one side, and ‘VIEW 2,’ with tempered glass attached on both sides—and is sold at Hyundai L&C dealers nationwide. Based on an entryway width of 1,500–1,800㎜, the retail price (including installation) is in the mid-1-million-won range for ‘VIEW 1’ and the low-2-million-won range for ‘VIEW 2.’

A Hyundai L&C official said, “A middle door blocks outside air from entering and offers an interior benefit by separating the entryway from the living space, so recently the number of customers choosing it as an apartment option or purchasing it individually has been increasing,” adding, “Following our existing aluminum ‘AL 3-panel sliding middle door’ and PVC ‘PL 3-panel sliding middle door,’ the launch of this ‘VIEW Series’ has allowed us to establish a full lineup of middle doors.” 080-729-8272
