Hyundai L&C, a total living interior company, has launched ‘Rehau 90 TT,’ a top-tier high-insulation system window developed in collaboration with Germany's Rehau to target the premium residential market.

‘Rehau 90 TT’ is the result of two years of research by Rehau's German engineers and Hyundai L&C's engineers into Korea's climate, with its four distinct seasons, and the housing culture that comes with it. Compared with the sliding double windows that are commonly used, conventional system windows fell somewhat short in insulation and condensation performance, making them a poor fit for Korea's housing culture, where winters are long and cold and humidity is high. To address this, Hyundai L&C applied triple glazing and a multi-layered airtight structure, solving the insulation and condensation problems that had previously plagued system windows. The product secures insulation performance that not only earns a Grade 1 energy consumption efficiency rating but also meets zero-energy building standards, and it satisfies condensation-prevention performance standards (Region I, delivering excellent condensation prevention even in the areas with Korea's lowest temperatures).

‘Rehau 90 TT’ uses a Tilt & Turn opening system, designed so that only the top of the window can be opened when ventilation is needed. It also applies the stepped glass (full-glass) method that is popular in Europe, eliminating the boundary between the frame and the glass. This secures a wider field of view while also enhancing the window's own design appeal. In addition to improving the view by eliminating the railings that can obstruct the view outside the window, aluminum covers in a variety of colors can be applied to the exterior to give the building's façade a premium look.

Hyundai L&C plans to focus its sales of the ‘Rehau 90 TT’ on redevelopment associations and premium new-build projects, and later to supply it to the large villa and premium apartment remodeling markets as well. A Hyundai L&C official said, “As housing is expected to become more upscale, taller, and smaller, the utility of system windows is projected to rise even further,” adding, “Since the Rehau 90 TT was developed specifically to be optimized for the domestic environment, we expect its value in the market to climb steadily going forward.”

Meanwhile, since 2017, Hyundai L&C has held a strategic partnership with Germany's Rehau—one of Europe's top three brands and the first company in the world to successfully extrude PVC windows—and has continued to develop Korean-style premium windows that incorporate European technology. The windows jointly developed by Hyundai L&C and Rehau, including the ‘Rehau 90 TT,’ can be seen at Hyundai L&C's comprehensive showroom ‘Gallery Q,’ located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. 080-729-8272
