Power tool brand Festool Korea will launch its new cordless compact drill 'CXS 18' in the first half of 2024, a product that combines light weight with powerful performance to boost productivity across a wide range of job sites.

With a product weight of 0.7 kg (excluding battery and accessories) and dimensions of 15 cm in length and 20.6 cm in height (including the 3.0Ah battery), the cordless compact drill 'CXS 18' offers ultra-compact specifications rarely seen among existing 18V-class drills, delivering outstanding performance when drilling in tight spaces or corners. In addition, by using the 3.0Ah Bluetooth battery, Festool's CENTROTEC chuck—80% lighter and more than 50% smaller than a typical drill chuck—and the dedicated lightweight keyless CXS & TXS chuck included as standard with the 'CXS 18', the overall weight of the tool can be reduced even further, securing top work efficiency and portability. Furthermore, despite being a compact model, the 'CXS 18' delivers remarkably powerful output. It has the power to easily handle a 35 mm diameter Forstner bit in softwood timber or a 6 mm diameter, 240 mm long screw. The thoughtful details for the user's convenience are also worth noting. The ergonomically designed C-type grip and the switch that allows easy torque adjustment across 13 settings enable highly precise and delicate work, while the magnetic bit holder attached to the front of the drill allows for easy bit changes during work to boost productivity. On top of this, Festool's various accessories can be swapped out with ease, and the integrated LED light enables accurate work even in dark areas.

The new 'CXS 18' has been included in 'Legend 7', the 18V cordless tool portfolio whose prices have been reduced only in Korea as part of Festool's goal of getting closer to its customers. In April of last year, Festool named seven essential 18V cordless tool product lines for on-site work 'Legend 7' and pursued a strategy of price reductions, significantly narrowing the price gap with equivalent products from other popular premium tool brands and earning an enthusiastic response from the market.
