The new ultra-fast charger enhances user convenience with connectivity features that Bosch is introducing for the first time in the industry. Through Bosch Power Tools' mobile app 'Toolbox', the low-power connectivity module's Bluetooth function built into the charger links with a smartphone, allowing users to instantly check charging information, remaining battery level, full-charge status, and more. In addition, if any charging status change or issue arises, the charger sends a warning or alert to the smartphone.
This product also features the ability to select a charging mode to suit your needs. There is a 'Standard Mode' for normal charging, a 'Power Boost Mode' for rapid charging, a 'Maximum Lifespan Mode' that charges over a long period at the lowest current, and a 'Storage Mode' that charges the battery to 30–50% and then switches to standby to prevent discharge during long-term storage. It is convenient to check the battery status through the app and switch to your desired mode.
The 'GAL 18V-160 C' boasts fast charging speeds with a charging current of up to 16 amperes. In particular, when Power Boost Mode is engaged, the battery can be charged to 50% in just 9 minutes for a ProCORE18V 4.0Ah, 15 minutes for an 8.0Ah, and 22 minutes for a 12.0Ah. Power Boost Mode is useful for users who work long hours or those short on charging time, as it charges the battery in a short amount of time.
In addition, it features an Active Air Cooling System that effectively manages heat generation. Two power fans are installed inside the charger, blowing air toward the battery during charging to prevent overheating. Furthermore, a 5-stage charging indicator makes it easy to check the charging stage, and it is 100% compatible with all Bosch Professional 18V batteries, so customers who already own an existing 18V battery can also charge it with the 'GAL 18V-160 C'.
