DeWalt, the premium professional power-tool brand of Stanley Black & Decker, has unveiled the '54V FlexVolt Cordless Brush Cutter (DCM5713X2)', reflecting the fact that weeding work demands high portability and convenience.

When the hot summer begins, weeds start to grow in gardens and flower beds, and in preparation for Chuseok, households get ready to tend their family gravesites. The essential tool for this has become the brush cutter. Most brush cutters currently on the market are engine-type units that run on gasoline, requiring fuel and being carried on the back during use. As a result, they caused considerable inconvenience for weeding work or simple gardening. In addition, with an average weight of 9–10 kg, they were burdensome to use for long periods and sometimes caused inconvenience through fuel leaks. Because such heavy products are carried on the back during use, they also had the drawback of making it difficult to prevent bee stings and various safety accidents during gravesite clearing.

Recently, as family columbarium-style graves have increased and the associated procedures have become simpler, cordless brush cutters that make gravesite clearing more convenient have been drawing attention, and 'cordless brush cutters' that address the shortcomings of conventional engine-type units are gaining popularity. DeWalt's '54V FlexVolt Cordless Brush Cutter (DCM5713X2)' is a cordless model equipped with a high-efficiency brushless motor, delivering powerful cutting force and high work efficiency. Furthermore, it is fitted with the 54V FlexVolt battery—a variable-voltage battery system—allowing high-output tools that could previously only be operated with a cord to be used cordlessly. When the brush cutter is not in use, the battery can be mounted on DeWalt's 18V product line, boasting high compatibility. In addition, the '54V FlexVolt Cordless Brush Cutter' was meticulously designed so that consumers can work comfortably and safely during weeding. Its two-stage folding shaft makes it easy to transport or store, and a shoulder strap that can be connected to the clip at the top of the working pole has been added to enhance operator convenience.

On top of this, its wide 380 mm cutting radius and 7.5 m × 2 mm dual-line automatic (bump-feed) line-head system enable fast and convenient work. It also features a speed-control trigger switch that allows the maximum speed to be adjusted. Continuous operation is possible for up to 44 minutes in high-speed mode and up to 54 minutes in low-speed mode, which is more than sufficient for home use.

Hong Seong-wan, CEO of Stanley Black & Decker Korea, said, "The DeWalt FlexVolt Cordless Brush Cutter is lightweight and boasts powerful performance, so anyone can use it easily and conveniently," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to launch products that are safer and more optimized for users by taking the working environment into account." 02-3016-9200
