KCC announced the launch of ‘New Hardwin V9’, an integrated aluminum (AL) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) composite window (hereinafter “composite window”) that delivers both insulation performance and design.
KCC’s ‘New Hardwin V9’ is characterized by maximized insulation performance compared to existing composite window products.
A composite window refers to a window made by applying aluminum to the exterior sash facing outdoors and PVC to the interior sash facing the inside of the building. It is a product that takes only the strengths of each type of window—the elegant design and high durability of an aluminum window, and the excellent insulation of a PVC window.
The newly launched ‘New Hardwin V9’ reduces the proportion of aluminum by more than 30% compared to the previous ‘New Hardwin V7’ product, while increasing the proportion of PVC. It replaces the aluminum exterior sash with PVC and adopts a method of covering the surface with an aluminum cap. As a result, it maximizes insulation while maintaining a premium exterior appearance, and also offers price competitiveness. The product design is diverse as well. The interior side of the window features a co-extruded frame in a dark brown color, while the exterior side is made of aluminum, allowing a variety of colors to be applied. In addition, it can be manufactured in different shapes according to the form of the building.
Beyond this, KCC’s new ‘New Hardwin V9’ broadens the range of choice by allowing diverse configurations, with the non-divided sliding standard type as the base and additional materials applied on top. A total of 11 product types can be realized, ranging from a sliding double window with an exterior aluminum cap, a lift-up sliding double window, an elevation-divided double window, and a glass-railing-integrated double window, to a single window.
A KCC official said, “We will continue to develop and launch composite windows that secure outstanding insulation performance while realizing the designs consumers want,” adding, “Going forward, we will strengthen our push into the premium new-construction and renovation window market—such as large-scale apartment reconstruction complexes in Gangnam—by leading with a range of premium window products, including New Hardwin V9.” 02-3480-5000
