KCC has launched ‘Lightwin,’ a gypsum board that is lighter and easier to install than conventional gypsum board.

KCC ‘Lightwin’ is 10% lighter than conventional gypsum board. As a result, it reduces transport and handling time and allows more gypsum boards to be shipped at once, cutting transportation costs.

In addition, it offers improved sag resistance and strength-to-weight ratio compared with standard gypsum board, delivering optimized ceiling installation performance. In particular, when used on ceilings, the sag remains within existing requirements even when the spacing between the M-bars of the lightweight steel ceiling frame is widened from 300 mm to 450 mm.

Furthermore, as a leading quasi-non-combustible building finishing material, it also ensures fire safety that can protect lives and property in the event of an unexpected fire, making it a product worth noting.

A KCC official said, “Lightwin gypsum board, which will lead the gypsum board market, maintains excellent quality while shortening the time required for installation, enabling efficient and flawless wall and ceiling construction,” adding, “We plan to lead the domestic building materials market with Lightwin, which applies KCC’s outstanding lightweighting technology.”

Meanwhile, KCC has the only non-combustible ceiling material lineup in Korea, including its premium ceiling materials Myton, Mytex, Gypsum Tex, and gypsum board. Going forward, the company plans to accelerate the development of non-combustible technologies through continuous quality improvement and R&D so as to protect lives and property from fire. 02-3480-5000
