LG Electronics has launched two new products—a top-mount refrigerator (fridge on top, freezer on the bottom) and a kimchi refrigerator—as part of its new ‘UP Appliance 2.0’ lineup, which delivers customized experiences for customers.
‘UP Appliance 2.0’ is characterized by products and services that adapt to each customer’s tastes and lifestyle, from the moment of purchase and throughout use. For example, if a customer answers in the lifestyle-pattern analysis survey on the ‘LG ThinQ’ smartphone app—before receiving the refrigerator—that they “mainly store fresh ingredients throughout the entire refrigerator compartment,” the temperature of the refrigerator compartment is set to 1°C from the start. This new product also introduces a new ‘Fresh Custom Compartment.’ As a result, meat, alcoholic beverages, pet food, and other items can be stored at temperatures suited to each food type. In particular, the meat soft-freezing mode at around minus 3°C allows food to be used quickly in cooking without a thawing process. It is also equipped with a multi-purpose storage function that lets you use four independent compartments—the upper left and right, the middle, and the bottom—according to your desired purpose.
The refrigerator prices, based on shipping price, are 4.7 million won for the ‘Knock-on Double MagicSpace’ and 4.35 million won for the ‘MagicSpace,’ while the kimchi refrigerator’s shipping price is 3.6 million won. The new products are also available through a subscription that reduces the initial purchase burden and provides ongoing maintenance. The contract term can be chosen from three to six years, and the monthly subscription fee varies depending on the contract term and options. Lee Hyun-wook, Executive Vice President and head of the Kitchen Solution Business Division at LG Electronics’ H&A Company, said, “We will continue to expand the kitchen appliance lineup launched under UP Appliance 2.0 to deliver hyper-personalized customer experiences.”
Meanwhile, since unveiling a two-door refrigerator under UP Appliance 2.0 in July last year, LG Electronics has continued to realize hyper-personalized kitchen living. In addition to refrigerators, a total of six products—including washing machines, dryers, air purifiers, air conditioners, and hydro towers—have been launched under UP Appliance 2.0. 1544-7777
