LG Electronics (CEO Cho Joo-wan) is releasing its residential premium ventilation system as a subscription product that reduces the burden of upfront purchase costs while making maintenance easier through experts’ total care service, taking the lead in bringing residential ventilation systems into the mainstream.
A residential ventilation system is a product that, without opening windows, expels indoor air polluted with fine dust, harmful gases, and carbon dioxide to the outside and supplies clean outdoor air into the home after passing it through a filter. Using a ventilation system keeps indoor air clean even on days when it is hard to open the windows due to high levels of outdoor pollutants such as yellow dust and pollen. In particular, because indoor cool or warm air does not escape outside, it can also reduce heating and cooling costs compared with window ventilation. LG Electronics’ home appliance subscription is characterized by reducing the burden of upfront purchase costs while providing thorough expert care throughout the entire subscription period.
When you subscribe to LG Premium Ventilation, a care expert visits the customer’s home every six months to inspect the product’s operating environment and meticulously manage both the interior and exterior, including internal cleaning, heat-exchange element cleaning, UV sterilization, phytoncide deodorization, and filter replacement. This resolves the inconvenience customers faced with maintenance such as filter replacement and dust removal, which were difficult due to the nature of the ceiling-installed product. In addition, LG Premium Ventilation is equipped with thorough hygiene technology. The product manages air cleanliness through multiple stages, including a pre-filter that removes large dust particles, UVnano sterilization technology that sterilizes the surface of the pre-filter with a UV LED to suppress 99.99% of surface bacteria and viruses, and an H14-grade HEPA filter that removes more than 99.995% of ultrafine dust. The heat-exchange element, which serves as the passageway through which air flows, is made with antibacterial and anti-mold treated materials. LG Premium Ventilation can be subscribed to at Best Shop stores nationwide. The monthly subscription fee ranges from 50,000 to 90,000 won, depending on the ventilation system the customer selects and the subscription period (3 to 6 years).
Meanwhile, LG Electronics is carrying out activities in Korea to raise awareness of the importance of indoor ventilation and the need for proper ventilation systems. This past May, LG Electronics signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology, a government-funded research institute, to jointly pursue efforts including ▲developing a certification system for ventilation products ▲research on verifying ventilation product performance and on an integrated management system ▲technical support for building big data related to indoor air quality management ▲joint technical and policy responses to establish indoor air quality management guidelines. 1544-7777
