LG Electronics unveiled its next-generation premium footwear care solution, the 'LG Styler ShoeCase & ShoeCare,' at IFA 2022, Europe's largest electronics and home appliance show, held in Berlin, Germany, on September 2.
Amid the growing culture of collecting shoes such as luxury sneakers and limited editions, the new products were designed to provide a solution that showcases shoes more attractively while keeping them in optimal condition.
The 'LG Styler ShoeCare' offers customized care for the whole family's wide range of footwear—from sneakers and dress shoes to functional shoes like golf and soccer cleats, as well as frequently worn daily shoes. The product inherits the patented steam technology of the 'LG Styler,' the byword for clothing care appliances, and is the industry's only unit equipped with TrueSteam, which is generated by boiling water, to thoroughly sterilize and deodorize not only the outside but also the inside of shoes. In addition, it precisely adjusts the amount of steam sprayed according to the type and material of the shoe, effectively removing athlete's foot fungus and harmful substances without damaging the shoes for hygienic care. Furthermore, LG developed and applied the 'ZeoDry Filter,' made from zeolite, a high-performance drying material, to remove even the fine moisture and odors remaining in shoes. On top of that, the new product implements a dual care system that allows different types of shoes to be placed in the upper and lower compartments of a single appliance and cared for simultaneously with courses optimized for each. Installing the racks located on the inside of the door in the upper and lower compartments allows up to four pairs to be cared for at once.
The 'LG Styler ShoeCase,' introduced alongside it, is a storage and display case that keeps shoes at optimal humidity and temperature so they can be admired like works of art. As a modular product, up to four ShoeCases can be connected to a single power source, and when installed on top of the 'Styler ShoeCare,' they can be used as a seamless, integrated design as if a single product. LG plans to continuously provide new features going forward, such as themes that change the color of the interior lighting inside the 'ShoeCase' and new customized courses for the 'ShoeCare.'
Meanwhile, LG Electronics plans to first launch the 'Styler ShoeCase & ShoeCare' in the domestic market within the year.
