Namsun Aluminum, a manufacturing affiliate of the SM Group, announced that it has begun full-scale sales of its poly-ceramic coated window frames.
Namsun Aluminum has completed the development of ‘Namsun Poly-Ceramic,’ a poly-ceramic coated window frame that combines Namsun Aluminum's precision coating technology with the specialty paint technology of Germany's Clariant, in order to improve cleanability and reduce the emission of harmful gases. ‘Namsun Poly-Ceramic’ is characterized by a dense coating layer that prevents impurities from penetrating the film, dramatically improving stain resistance. In particular, it offers excellent protection against corrosion caused by coastal saltwater and shows no discoloration from ultraviolet rays, allowing a building's exterior to be maintained semi-permanently. As a product suited to the trends of premium building exteriors and eco-friendliness, ‘Namsun Poly-Ceramic’ is drawing increasing inquiries from construction companies and design firms, and the company plans to launch it in eight carefully selected trendy signature colors.
A Namsun Aluminum official said, “We plan to develop our Namsun poly-ceramic coated window frames—which offer superior stain resistance, scratch resistance, saltwater resistance, and weather resistance compared to conventional coated products—as a flagship product and lead the high-quality window market.”
In addition, Namsun Aluminum announced that it has also developed an ‘aluminum single-pane fire-rated window.’ The product passed the fire-window performance testing standard of non-insulated fire resistance (blocking smoke and flames) for 20 minutes or more on both the interior and exterior sides. It also passed the thermal transmittance (heat-transfer rate) test—where lower values are considered better—with a rating of 1.442, earning a passing mark in terms of energy savings. Other advantages include clean assembly and versatility across various sizes, including large-format fire windows. Namsun Aluminum explained that, thanks to its outstanding durability, the product can be applied at sites where fire windows are essential, such as neighborhood living facilities, lodging facilities, and logistics centers.
