Bang & Olufsen has officially launched 'BeoVision Harmony,' an unprecedented unfolding TV, in the domestic market.
'BeoVision Harmony' is an innovative product that combines an ultra-high-definition 4K OLED display with an ultra-high-fidelity B&O speaker system. With a design inspired by the fluttering of a butterfly's wings, its speaker panels open and close depending on the intended use, allowing it to function as either a TV or a speaker.
Once again realizing the three values Bang & Olufsen has always emphasized—design, craftsmanship, and sound performance—'BeoVision Harmony' delivers a complete cinema experience in which outstanding sound and vivid imagery are fused into one. In particular, 'BeoVision Harmony' reflects the recently spotlighted home-appliance trend of 'technology that blends invisibly into the interior.' From the BeoVision Capri TV series of the 1950s and 60s, Bang & Olufsen has established the TV as a refined piece of furniture and proposed new living-room interiors; with this new product, the company has perfectly integrated the TV—a home appliance—into the interior. When the TV is not in use, the speaker panels are positioned across the front of the screen, giving the impression of a decorative object, and when the TV is turned on, the two speaker panels unfold gracefully to the left and right like butterfly wings while the screen rises to the perfect viewing height. There are two speaker covers: 'Oak Wood,' in which wood and aluminum panels are arranged in an alternating pattern, and 'Grey Mélange Fabric,' in which aluminum panels are wrapped in fabric. A notable feature is that the intricate grading pattern of the oak wood is not merely an elegant design but is precisely engineered to enhance acoustic performance. To suit the user's interior environment, it can be placed on the floor using a floor stand or mounted on the wall with a bracket. The new 'BeoVision Harmony' was designed by Torsten Valeur, chief designer at the David Lewis Designers group.
In addition, the new product provides powerful stereo sound through a 3-channel sound center. It is equipped with a total of six speaker drivers and six amplifiers supporting each driver, boasting a powerful output of 450W.
