Smart Door Lock K100

Delivering a Broader Smart Home Experience

Aqara Life (CEO Song Hee-kyung), an AIoT specialist, now supports integration of its ‘Smart Door Lock K100 (hereinafter K100)’ with Samsung SmartThings (hereinafter SmartThings). With this, the K100 becomes the only door lock sold in Korea that supports Apple Home, Google Home, and SmartThings, making it the smart door lock with the widest range of platforms for consumers to choose from.

Since its launch this past November, the K100 has drawn strong interest from home IoT users, with its initial production run selling out in just 25 days, leading the way in the emerging ‘smart door lock’ market. Through this integration, K100 users can now enjoy an even more advanced home automation experience.

Unlike conventional door locks, the K100 is a smart door lock that enables personalized automation settings by linking with a variety of IoT devices and home appliances. With this new integration into the SmartThings platform, it is expected to deliver the ultimate homecoming experience by connecting with SmartThings-enabled Samsung appliances such as air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and TVs.

In addition to automation linked with smart appliances, the K100 enhances user convenience with a variety of unlocking methods, including fingerprint recognition, passwords, NFC keys, and wall pad integration. In particular, the speed and accuracy of its fingerprint recognition are aspects that the vast majority of consumers have been highly satisfied with since launch. The combination of its push-pull structure and the ‘fingerprint module’ that global Aqara takes pride in delivers an experience where the door opens with a rapid response time of under 0.5 seconds the moment you grasp the handle. With this SmartThings integration support, a remote unlocking feature via the ‘SmartThings app’ has been added, providing users with an even wider range of unlocking options.

Aqara Life CEO Song Hee-kyung said, “Ever since the K100 launched, inquiries about SmartThings integration have never stopped,” adding, “The K100 is satisfying on its own, but it truly shines when linked with a variety of AIoT products. We hope users will experience a convenient smart home life through home automation tailored to them within the SmartThings environment.”
