Exchanging Information and Technology for Korean-Style Premium Products
“We Will Supply Products Specialized for the Domestic Market Through Active Collaboration”

Hyundai L&C has signed an agreement with Germany's window and door brand REHAU, holding seminar exchanges and accelerating new product launches, as it moves to expand its share of the premium market through stable collaboration.
Hyundai L&C, the comprehensive building-materials company of Hyundai Department Store Group, held a three-day seminar with Germany's REHAU in Shanghai, China, beginning March 20, sharing information on window and door fabrication and installation and exploring new product development. Since 2017, Hyundai L&C has partnered with REHAU—regarded as one of Europe's top three window and door brands—to present Korean-style premium windows and doors incorporating European technology. This seminar, organized by REHAU's Asia headquarters, was the first to resume since COVID-19 and served as a forum bringing together window and door experts from both companies.
Through the seminar and showroom visits, Hyundai L&C grasped international window and door market trends and, by communicating with experts, acquired the industry's latest technology and experience. In particular, alongside headquarters staff, some ten personnel from partner companies also attended, closely addressing even the demands of actual work sites. Participants introduced the top-tier REHAU R-900 window, launched last year, and the R-9, whose launch is imminent, and discussed products suited to Korea's climate and residential environment—such as aluminum-PVC composite materials, four-sided sealing, and a soft-closing system—while announcing achievements such as the R-900's selection for the ‘Good Design Award Korea.’ Building on this, they reviewed global market issues including new materials, fully automated systems, and design trends, and explored the future direction for Korean-style premium products.
Prior to this, in November, Nils Wagner, CEO of REHAU New Venture, visited Korea and signed an agreement to strengthen strategic collaboration with Hyundai L&C. Since their first partnership, the two companies have launched some ten products, including the REHAU R-TT, R-7, and R-900, expanding their presence in the domestic premium window and door market, with tens of thousands—up to 30,000 households—slated for new supply. Buoyed by these results, the two sides confirmed their mutual commitment to actively revitalizing exchanges that had slowed and to developing next-generation innovative products, and this seminar was planned as part of that effort.
Meanwhile, Hyundai L&C is conducting final checks ahead of the launch of its new product, the REHAU R-9. Unlike the R-900, launched last year as an aluminum-PVC composite window, the R-9 is made of PVC, further enhancing basic performance such as insulation. At the same time, features praised in existing products—such as four-sided sealing, soft closing, and glass railings—have been selectively applied, positioning it to serve as a top-tier product.
A Hyundai L&C official said, “Reinforcing our products and services to suit Korean conditions, based on REHAU's premium window and door know-how, appears to have earned greater trust from domestic customers,” adding, “By leveraging active collaboration with REHAU and our global network, we will continue to supply products that can meet the high standards of the redevelopment and reconstruction market.”
