‘WACKER T3000’ is an eco-friendly flooring adhesive with an impact-cushioning effect. In relation to this, WACKER Chemicals Korea has announced new test results on the inter-floor noise reduction effect of its eco-friendly flooring adhesive ‘WACKER T3000’.
In heavyweight and lightweight impact-sound tests (KS F 2810; KS F 2863) conducted by the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL) at the demonstration test building of the LH Housing Environment Research Institute (HERI), the test group installed with ‘WACKER T3000’ adhesive showed an inter-floor noise reduction of 1–2 dB, and a 1 dB reduction could also be demonstrated even when compared with a control group of the adhesive finishing materials commonly installed on most sites.
According to the Land & Housing Institute’s ‘Study on the Analysis of Design, Construction, and Control Factors for Reducing Floor Impact Noise in Apartment Housing’ (heavyweight impact noise decreases by 1.5 dB for every 30 mm increase in slab thickness), using ‘WACKER T3000 adhesive’ can therefore achieve an effect equivalent to a 20 mm increase in slab thickness. This test was evaluated in accordance with the test methods of KS F 2810 and KS F 2863, and the results proved that flooring adhesive alone can be effective in improving inter-floor noise.
In addition, ‘WACKER T3000’ is a product manufactured without the addition of methanol during the production process, and it has received the Environmental Label certification from the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute and the top grade for eco-friendly building materials from the Korea Air Cleaning Association. It is also a product recommended by the Korea Atopy Association.
