As eco-friendliness, design, and ease of installation have emerged as key themes in the architectural finishing materials market, Samil INC Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoon Jong-hae) is unveiling a diverse range of interior and exterior materials that respond to these changing times, solidifying its standing as a leading company in the field.
Founded in 2002 as Samil Geonup, Samil INC grew with a core lineup of asphalt shingles, cement siding, and louvers. Sensing the shift of the times toward growing interest in eco-friendly materials with outstanding design and durability in the housing market, the company began supplying such products in earnest. In 2014, Samil INC relocated its headquarters to Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, and built a large-scale logistics warehouse and metal processing plant on a 6,610㎡ (2,000-pyeong) site. By securing a dealership for ‘Pos-MAC,’ developed and produced by POSCO, and supplying roofing, gutters, and roof projections that can respond quickly to market demand through its processing plant, Samil INC has secured its competitiveness.
Samil INC CEO Yoon Jong-hae explained, “As global roofing trends have shifted from shingles and clay tiles to metal materials capable of realizing modern designs, Samil INC has established a processing plant alongside its headquarters relocation and now supplies the market with finished products that apply precise and meticulous processing technology,” adding, “In particular, we have built Samil INC’s own competitive edge by systematizing the entire process from product purchasing to packaging, shipping, and delivery.”
Metal roofing is a roofing material that closely replicates the properties of original zinc—a zinc steel sheet alloyed with titanium and copper—by applying a special coating of paint to galvanized steel sheet. It offers a more reasonable price point than original zinc while boasting excellent durability, corrosion resistance, and abrasion resistance. Going forward, Samil INC plans to develop and launch its own design products alongside its processing expertise.
In addition, taking into account the installation environment that is shifting toward dry construction, Samil INC has developed and supplies the ‘T-Brick System,’ an eco-friendly interior and exterior material that can be installed using the dry method. The T-Brick System is a system in which ‘Terracotta’—made by aging pure clay, high-pressure extrusion molding it, and then firing it at ultra-high temperatures of 1,200 degrees—is fixed onto a base board. Its simple dry-method installation reduces construction costs, and it can be installed on both wooden and concrete houses. Thanks to high-pressure molding, it is resistant to surface scratches, and its surface water repellency, with an absorption rate of less than 2.5%, provides excellent stain resistance. T-Brick is available in a variety of colors, and its diverse configurations allow for composite installation, offering a wide range of pattern choices. In particular, the patent-pending base board protects the exterior material from moisture with its waterproofing function, and individual pieces can be replaced one by one in the event of partial damage. T-Brick measures 100×400㎜, 20T, and a single base board measures 310×3000㎜, 20T.
For clay tiles, an eco-friendly roofing material, the company supplies Spain’s Tejas Borja tiles, which feature enhanced design. Backed by over 100 years of accumulated manufacturing technology and experience, Tejas Borja provides a 30-year product warranty on all its tiles and holds various standards and certifications. Tejas Borja places great importance on the impact that a roof’s functional and aesthetic perfection has on the building as a whole, and it continuously strives to deliver the finest products. Its high level of aesthetic perfection is realized, in the case of its ‘Ground’ products, through richly varied hues in which no two tiles share the same color, along with deeply embossed surface textures.
By turning forward-looking inspiration that meets market demand into reality, Samil INC seeks mutual growth with its partner dealers. CEO Yoon Jong-hae expressed his ambitions, saying, “Based on our long-standing relationships of trust with dealers distributed across the country, we have proven the successful sales impact of the new trend products Samil INC has proposed in the past, such as hinoki louvers and cedar siding,” and, “We will continue to grow as a leading company that drives the future trends of the construction market by supplying competitive, eco-friendly products that keep pace with the changing times.” 031-797-6608
