Building materials company Samil INC Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoon Jong-hae) has developed and is supplying 'T-Brick System,' an eco-friendly interior/exterior cladding material that enables dry installation, in response to construction environments that are increasingly shifting toward dry methods.

The T-Brick System is a terracotta interior/exterior cladding material developed by Samil INC. It is a system that fixes 'Terracotta'—made by aging pure clay, forming it through high-pressure extrusion, and firing it at an ultra-high temperature of 1,200 degrees—onto a substrate board.

T-Brick is an eco-friendly terracotta product created in the natural colors of earth, and its water-repellent surface serves an anti-fouling function. As a dry-installation interior/exterior cladding material, it employs the open-joint method, and the substructure hardware is made from PVC, stainless steel, galvalume, and other materials, broadening the range of economical choices. The simple dry installation method reduces construction costs, and installation is possible on both wood-frame and concrete houses. It is supplied in brick-based modules so that it can be used on anything from large buildings to small houses.

Thanks to its high-pressure molding, T-Brick is highly resistant to surface scratching, and with a water absorption rate of less than 2.5% and a water-repellent surface, it offers excellent stain resistance. A wide variety of colors is available, and its diverse configurations allow for composite installation, offering a broad range of pattern choices. In addition, ordinary stains are easily washed away by rainwater alone, and because it is fastened behind the substrate board, it is safe even in earthquakes. T-Brick is produced in accordance with international-standard production systems and quality control criteria, strictly adhering to the testing methods of ISO 10545, KS, and JIS, as well as the quality standards of ISO 13006.

In particular, the patent-pending substrate board has a waterproofing function that protects the cladding from moisture, and in the event of damage, individual panels can be replaced piece by piece. T-Brick measures 100×400㎜, 20T, and a single substrate board measures 310×3000㎜, 20T.

Meanwhile, Samil INC—which began as Samil Geonup in 2002 and has grown with asphalt shingles, cement siding, and louvers as its main products—has sensed the changing times, with rising interest in the housing market for eco-friendly materials with outstanding design and durability, and has begun supplying related products in earnest. In 2014, Samil INC relocated its headquarters to Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, where it established a large-scale logistics warehouse and metal processing plant on a 6,610㎡ (2,000-pyeong) site. Samil INC secured its competitiveness by signing a dealership agreement for 'Pos-MAC,' developed and produced by POSCO, and by supplying roofing materials, gutters, roof flashing, and more that can quickly respond to market demands through its processing plant. 031-797-6608
