As window treatments that block sunlight and improve heating and cooling efficiency establish themselves as indoor essentials in homes and apartments, Sehwa Living Plus (CEO Yoon Chang-hyun) is proposing a new trend to the wholesale, retail, and consumer markets with its ‘Design Curtains.’
Sehwa Living Plus is a company specializing in custom curtains and blinds, equipped with a one-stop system that spans from commissioning the weaving of curtain fabric to design development, customer consultation, finished-product manufacturing, and installation. Through its Living Plus brand, which ‘elevates’ the quality of a ‘space’ by one level, the company supplies its products to wholesale and retail stores and consumers nationwide. The distinctive designs created with Living Plus’s own design sensibility are effective in creating sophisticated, upscale spaces.
In particular, by planning fabric weaving directly and distributing across the country a wide range of fabrics that only Sehwa Living Plus can offer, the company has built the competitive edge to lead domestic curtain design trends. Rather than simply using existing fabrics to make finished curtains, the company commissions designs from the fabric-weaving stage to produce fabrics that carry Living Plus’s unique character, and it supplies these fabrics to some 200 accounts nationwide. Accordingly, Sehwa Living Plus has newly launched its ‘Design Curtains’ this year and is taking the lead in transforming the monotonous curtain design trend that had long been dominated by solid-color curtains.
The ‘Design Curtains’ unveiled by Sehwa Living Plus are products featuring a variety of patterns, characterized by new design patterns proposed by Sehwa Living Plus that are digitally printed (DPT) using a print-dyeing method, expressing intricate yet highly realistic designs. A rich array of designs—geometric, botanical, and rare, high-value designs—is rendered on the curtain fabric at high resolution. Made of polyester, the Design Curtains resist wrinkling and are highly sun-resistant, preventing curtain discoloration. In addition, products blending polyester and linen at a 7:3 ratio can be used year-round and are easy to maintain, compensating for the drawback of linen materials that are difficult to launder. The Design Curtain lineup consists of solid, patterned, neps solid, blackout, double-sided blackout, and linen types, with a total of 54 pattern designs available. The neps solid product offers the advantage of enhanced practicality, giving 100% polyester material a surface texture treatment that feels like linen.
Yoon Chang-hyun, CEO of Sehwa Living Plus, explained, “Design Curtains are a product that presents a new alternative in a curtain market that had been filled with nothing but solid-color blackout curtains, and the interior styling effect is doubled when solid curtains and sheer curtains are combined,” adding, “Going forward, we will continue to lead the trend of new patterned curtains by incorporating Sehwa Living Plus’s own distinctive designs.”
Sehwa Living Plus is currently headquartered on Hogupo-ro in Namdong-gu, Incheon, supplying fabrics and finished products on a wholesale and retail basis to some 200 accounts nationwide, and it manufactures curtains directly through its head-office factory. In addition, its permanent Sincheon Store showroom, located on Seohaean-ro in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, displays a variety of curtain combinations to help consumers understand the products and, through direct consultation, purchase products at reasonable prices. The company also operates its own online mall (www.livingdecoplus.com) so that consumers can purchase directly, with a strategy of gradually strengthening its online marketing.
Sehwa Living Plus curtains are produced directly at the factory, eliminating multiple stages of distribution and selling directly from the head office, thereby minimizing price markups so that products can be purchased at affordable, reasonable prices. Furthermore, everything is handcrafted and designed on a 100% made-to-order basis, enabling distinctive home styling tailored to the diverse tastes of consumers. The main product categories include design curtains, blackout curtains, sheer curtains, small accessories, rugs, carpets, and blinds.
Yoon Chang-hyun, CEO of Sehwa Living Plus, shared his aspirations: “Recently, in expanded living rooms and master bedrooms of apartments, 60–80% of consumers want to install curtain products, which offer a far greater sunlight-blocking effect and superior heating and cooling performance compared to screen or blind products,” and “With demand high among consumers who, along with the functionality of curtains, seek a comfortable atmosphere and wish to complete their interior décor through curtains, the curtain market is expected to keep expanding—so we will lead the related market with distinctive designs and a stable product supply.” 032-521-1230
