According to Solarluce, the name 'THE Liv' was inspired by the words 'Live' and 'Living.' The company explained that the name embodies the idea of completing life and space, and that the product is optimized for home lighting.

Solarluce's new product 'THE Liv' was conceived under the concept of the birth of a new kind of home lighting that surpasses the design of existing home lighting. 'THE Liv' is characterized by realizing a minimalism that pares away unnecessary design while emphasizing elements that add an accent to the interior. In particular, the border line—the design's focal point—is a design that suits any interior.

A Solarluce official said, "THE Liv strengthens not only design but also the functional aspect.
