JUNG, the premium German brand leading the smart home and smart building automation field with wiring devices that combine sophisticated design and cutting-edge technology, presented a wide range of design products and solutions at 'light+building 2024,' the global lighting and architecture fair held in Germany this past March. In particular, JUNG drew attention by unveiling a broad lineup of new products featuring a redesigned version of the 'LS 1912,' the rocker switch that JUNG first produced when the brand was founded.
The LS 1912 is a premium-line switch designed to commemorate the company's founding in 1912—a lever-type switch that reinterprets the retro design of that era in a modern way. Satisfying both visual and tactile experiences, the LS 1912 is an iconic switch that combines classic minimalist design with innovative functionality. JUNG Korea, which supplies JUNG products in Korea, stated, "The new products can be ordered domestically starting in early in the second half of 2024, and unlike the KNX programmable switch version, the hand-finished LS 1912 Le Corbusier color options are made to order only, so it takes about three months to receive the product."
LS 1912 Le Corbusier Color Options
The LS 1912 Cylinder type, previously supplied only in metal materials, now adds 63 color options from Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier, opening up diverse design possibilities. Switches using the LC option of the LS 1912 visually harmonize with a space's color scheme and style while catching the eye. The 63 Le Corbusier colors used in JUNG's switch line are tested and approved by Les Couleurs Suisse AG, the holder of all Le Corbusier licenses. To reproduce the impressive depth of Le Corbusier's colors, the surface of the LS 1912 switch is hand-finished using a special process. Thanks to this, the LC option of the LS 1912 offers a matte texture like a plaster cast, delivering a satisfying tactile feel to users.
Le Corbusier, a master architect indispensable to the history of modern and contemporary architecture, created an architectural color system as a tool for architects, interior designers, and designers. His timeless color palette can be seen retaining its vivid inspiration even now, 90 years later. The 63 colors added to this line are built on Le Corbusier's 'Polychromie Architecturale' system, offering a palette in which shading is varied across up to four levels from the base color.
LS 1912 KNX Programmable Switch
Combining the distinctive aesthetic effect of the LS 1912 with the versatile smart functions of the KNX system—the global standard for building automation—this product lets you make diverse use of intelligent building automation technology. The newly added 'multi-toggle switch insert' for KNX in the LS 1912 product family is an expandable system insert that, unlike conventional inserts that simply operate up and down, allows a position and system function to be assigned separately to the upper and lower sections. This solution not only provides an aesthetic extension of the existing switch design but also supports the KNX system, allowing users to assign various desired functions such as adjusting blind slats.
