SKC eco solutions, a subsidiary of SKC, announced that it has launched 'SKC Eco Deco Film,' an eco-friendly architectural film, in the domestic market.

The new product 'SKC Eco Deco Film' is an eco-friendly film that can be used in place of paint on building exterior materials such as steel sheet, panels, and wood. It is evaluated as the only architectural exterior film that reproduces a variety of looks such as metal, marble, and solid wood while offering durability of more than 20 years. Fluorine has excellent durability, chemical resistance, and antibacterial properties, and does not soil easily. For this reason, fluorine film has been widely used to protect solar panels. The newly developed 'SKC Eco Deco Film' has all of these advantages because its outer layer is made of 100% fluorine.

Its greatest advantage is that it is more eco-friendly than paint. Until now, paint has been applied to exterior materials such as color-coated steel sheet used for building exteriors. Paint emits volatile organic compounds during the drying process after coating. In contrast, 'SKC Eco Deco Film' is applied by printing the color and design and then attaching it to the building exterior, so no volatile organic compounds are generated. In addition, it does not crack or crumble the way paint does, so there is no concern about the generation of fine dust.

Another strength is that it can cleanly realize the design that customers want. Unlike paint, which offers limited design options, it can implement emotive designs with a wide range of colors and patterns. In fact, client Dongkuk Steel applied this product to unveil the world's first metal-look color-coated steel sheet for building exteriors. After two years of joint development, the two companies applied 'SKC Eco Deco Film' to color-coated steel sheet.

SKC eco solutions plans to first make a full-scale entry into the market for building exterior materials such as color-coated steel sheet, stainless steel, and aluminum panels. It has already begun supplying small quantities for building exteriors to the Chinese market. The company is also reviewing plans to enter the interior market by leveraging advantages such as antibacterial properties and reduced VOC emissions.

An official from SKC eco solutions said, "It is an eco-friendly solution that enhances design freedom while solving the problem of volatile organic compounds," adding, "We will actively target global steelmakers and composite panel manufacturers, strengthen our promotion within the architectural design industry, and develop additional eco-friendly functions such as heat dissipation and air purification to enhance social value." 070-7464-1000
