New gradient technology and a flexible design
Signify Korea (formerly Philips Lighting Korea), a global lighting company leading the connected-lighting field, is officially launching the ‘Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip’ in Korea.
Unlike ordinary lighting that simply provides illumination, ‘Philips Hue’ is an LED smart lighting system whose brightness and color can be controlled with a smartphone, tablet, or other device. The ‘Hue Gradient Lightstrip’ being released this time is a new product in the ‘Philips Hue Gradient’ line—distinct from the ‘Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip’ designed to be mounted behind a TV—and is a strip-shaped light that offers flexibility in setting the mood of the home.
Unlike conventional strip lights that display only a single color out of 16 million, the new product can present multiple colors simultaneously along its length, and colors and brightness can be easily adjusted from a smartphone via the Philips Hue Bluetooth app. In particular, with no installation work required, it can be easily set up in any desired space—such as the living room, bedroom, or study—by attaching the 3m adhesive tape, and its flexible material lets it be freely bent during installation. In addition, cutting lines every 12.5 cm allow you to cut it to the exact length you need and reconnect it, enabling size customization. This product measures 2 m in length, and by using a 1 m extension cord it can be connected up to a maximum of 10 m.
Furthermore, the ‘Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip’ gains a wider range of features when a bridge is added. In particular, by downloading and linking the ‘Hue Sync’ app—useful when gaming or watching movies and listening to music—the lighting is expressed automatically according to the content, delivering an even more immersive experience. Notably, Philips Hue recently partnered with the global music streaming service ‘Spotify’ to synchronize music and lighting so that the lights change automatically in time with the playing music, giving consumers an entirely new experience.
Kang Yong-nam, President of Signify’s Northeast Asia region, explained, “The newly launched Hue Gradient Lightstrip is a special product that stands out for its new gradient technology and flexible design,” adding, “We hope you experience more dynamic and magical light wherever you want it.”
The new ‘Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip’ is available through various online channels and offline channels (such as the Hyundai Department Store Offworks store). For one month, the first 50 customers who purchase the product and write a review will receive a coffee gift voucher.
Meanwhile, based on its vision of ‘Light Beyond Illumination,’ Signify Korea (formerly Philips Lighting Korea) delivers limitless possibilities through high-quality lighting products and connected lighting systems and services.
