Hanssem is launching its new 'Wainscoting Interior Board' product. Interior boards are wall-finishing materials made by attaching decorative surface materials in various designs to wood. They have traditionally been used mainly in commercial spaces such as cafés, but demand has recently been growing in homes as well amid rising consumer interest in home decoration. In the first half of this year (January–May), Hanssem's sales of its residential interior boards increased by more than 50% compared to the same period last year.
Generally, 'wainscoting' refers to attaching decorative molding to interior walls in the form of square frames, and is mainly used in classic interior design. Because it typically involves carpentry work followed by painting on-site, it requires considerable time and cost. A Hanssem official said, "The newly introduced Wainscoting Interior Board can be attached directly to the wall on-site," adding, "Its advantages are that it reduces time and cost while maintaining consistent installation quality."
In addition, Hanssem plans to launch a new lighting product in the second half of this year that simplifies the installation process. The product is installed by drilling an opening in the ceiling and inserting the product into it, without any separate carpentry work. The company is also introducing 'Innoplus,' a new non-adhesive click-type flooring product. 'Innoplus' can be installed as an overlay on top of existing flooring without removing it, dramatically reducing demolition costs and installation time, and it is more eco-friendly as it does not use adhesives.
A Hanssem official said, "As remodeling demand has increased recently, we plan to launch a variety of new building material products, such as flooring and interior boards, for faster and more convenient installation," adding, "Along with high-quality building materials, we will provide one-stop service covering consultation, installation, and after-sales care to enhance the satisfaction of remodeling customers." 02-6908-3114
